Day 5 - Songkran!

Today is Songkran day at camp! As planned, all indoor activities were moved up to the morning, and it was everything we could do to keep the kids from firing water at us inside the buildings.

The melee broke out just as lunch finished. I think we may have had water games planned, but we never really got that far. There was a Slip 'n Slide set up with some soap which was messy fun, and of course trucks and trucks of water coming through the school.

We thoroughly soaked the bus on the way back to the bungalows, wet but happy.

We did start our day today at breakfast with a devotional led by the youth (Stephen, J.C., and Derrick). They challenged us with a set of verses from I Corinthians about making ourselves part of the world around us if we want to win them for Christ. Very challenging as we are here as well as when we head back to our respective home cities.
This evening was perhaps the most moving time we've spent together as a team. As our after-dinner worship time, we did a foot washing ceremony. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house as we all poured out our love and gratitude to those we've served with this week. What a fitting thing to do also as we move into Good Friday and Easter, as it was at this time that Jesus did this also for his disciples (see John 13).
Tomorrow we say goodbye to these precious children. Please be in prayer for the kids, that their hearts would be open to the gospel and that the parting won't be too hard on any of us. Also, Halley, one of the ladies here with us, stepped on a sea urchin today and ended up at the emergency room. She's doing fine, but could use prayers for healing and to be free from infection. Thankfully, there was a big crowd of us on the beach when it happened, and the guys were able to carry her off quickly to get treatment. Our last posting will be tomorrow! Thank you so much for your continued prayers.
